EcoSmart, a 100% subsidiary of the Van Gansewinkel Groep, activities fit perfectly within the Cradle to Cradle concept.
EcoSmart establishes integrated waste management in companies by outsourcing experienced waste specialists. They collect all the waste from the workplace. In general, this decreases the percentage of residual waste in companies from around 60 percent to approximately 25 percent. Residual waste is converted into energy by incineration, but that also means the end of a cycle. Because of this approach, the percentage of recyclable waste has become much more significant. There are examples of companies which, because of us, now only have 10 percent residual and 90 percent recyclable waste. EcoSmart collects waste from more than 60,000 workplaces in the Netherlands.
