Campaign “From waste to art”
10 march - 9 may 2008
In collaboration with 'NederlandSchoon' (Keep Holland Tidy), Van Gansewinkel has started a campaign for primary schools called “From waste to art”. Via the campaign, Van Gansewinkel wishes to acquaint schools and pupils with waste and waste management services.
Primary schools in the Dutch provinces of Friesland, Groningen and Drenthe are welcome to take part. If your primary school is located in this region and you would like to receive more information, please send an E-mail to Van Gansewinkel at info_noord@vangansewinkel.com or telephone +31 (0) 528 34 8148.
The campaign will run from 10 March to 9 May. During the campaign, primary school classes can study waste as a theme. Over a number of weeks, pupils can collect waste that they will ultimately transform into works of art by the end of the campaign.
Classes are free to choose the form of the work of art they create, which may, for example, be a 3-dimensional painting, sculpture or construction. (Re)usable waste is extremely diverse and the pupils are free to choose the materials , (for example, cans, bottle tops and packaging) with which they wish to work. Food remains are not recommended. The children can also use paint, felt-tip pens, crayons or coloured pencils to decorate their work of art.
The class with the most beautiful work of art will win a day out to the Verkeerspark (Traffic Park) in Assen.
You can read this information again in the schools leaflet.
